Expect change

The climate is changing. And nature with it. This is evident, among other things, in the fact that flowers bloom earlier. That migratory birds appear earlier in the spring. And that there is less snow in the winters.

We are all part of nature. And there is a lot we can do to meet the new climate challenges. This can involve
– preserving and creating wetlands that help absorb and slow down water during heavy rains
– planting trees that provide shade when temperatures rise creating places where insects, animals and people thrive when it gets too dry where they usually are.

What happens if a species’ food becomes extinct?
To know what we need to do, we need to help each other study the changes in nature over the seasons. We need to know how much earlier, for example, coltsfoot flowers. We need to understand the chain reactions that occur. And how the ecosystem is affected by the changes. What happens, for example, if the sea level rises? Or if a certain species dies out, which is food for another? Everything is connected.

How you can help nature
The beauty of nature is that it has so much to tell. There are climate signs to discover everywhere. To inspire you, and let you study and report on the impact of climate on nature, we have put together a series of activities at naturum Trollskogen. We are all part of nature. Together we need to help it cope with the challenges better. Expect change.
